The ARP Odyssey is an analog synthesizer that was first released in 1972 by the American company ARP Instruments. It is one of the most iconic and influential synthesizers of all time, and has been used by a wide range of artists, including Herbie Hancock, Kraftwerk, and Jean-Michel Jarre.
The ARP Odyssey works by generating sound through the use of voltage-controlled oscillators, filters, and envelope generators. It has two oscillators, a low-pass filter, and an envelope generator, as well as a number of other features such as an arpeggiator, portamento, and a noise generator. It also has a number of different sound modes, including a duophonic mode which allows two notes to be played at the same time.
