Synthpedia is run by Clouden Oy. This page explains what Synthpedia stores in your browser and which analytics it uses. Clouden's privacy policy covers how personal data is handled in general.
Your answer to the cookie banner is kept in your browser's local storage under cookieConsent, so that the banner isn't shown on every page. It is never sent anywhere.
Synthpedia counts page views with WebCat Analytics, Clouden's own analytics service. It sets no cookies and stores nothing in your browser, so it runs whatever you answer. It records the pages you view with the referring page, your browser's user agent and a masked IP address, under a random id that is forgotten when you leave or reload the site.
If you choose Accept, Synthpedia loads Google Analytics, which sets the cookies _ga and _ga_<id> for up to two years to tell visits apart. Google receives the pages you view, your browser and device type, and your approximate location, which it derives from your IP address. Synthpedia uses it only for statistics: no advertising cookies, no Google Ads tags, and no ad personalization. If you choose Only essential, Google Analytics is not loaded and nothing is sent to Google.
You can change your choice at any time from cookie settings, which is also linked at the bottom of every page. Withdrawing consent deletes the Google Analytics cookies and reloads the page without Google Analytics.
