Ensoniq was an American electronics company that made samples and synthesizers from in the mid-1980s and 1990s. It was founded in 1982 by Robert "Bob" Yannes (Commodore 64 SID chip designer), Bruce Crockett, and Al Charpentier. The company's initial product was a home computer software drum machine.
Ensoniq was acquired by Creative in 1998 and merged with E-mu Systems. Later the E-Mu/Ensoniq division was dissolved.
