The Sequential Circuits Prophet 2000 is a digital sampling keyboard synthesizer released in 1987. It was one of the first samplers to feature a built-in hard drive, allowing users to store samples and sequences. It was used by a variety of artists, including Depeche Mode, Nine Inch Nails, and The Prodigy.
The Prophet 2000 works by sampling audio signals and storing them in its internal hard drive. It can then be used to create and manipulate sounds, either by playing back the samples or by using the built-in synthesis engine. It features a 61-note keyboard, a 16-track sequencer, and a variety of effects, including chorus, flanging, and reverb. It also has a built-in MIDI interface, allowing it to be connected to other MIDI devices.
